Voxxed Days Thessaloniki 2025 – My Experience
November 09, 2025This year marked my second time attending Voxxed Days Thessaloniki, and it once again proved to be one of the most inspiring developer events in the region. From deep technical dives to forward-looking discussions on AI, architecture, and modern web development, the conference had something for everyone.
As always, the atmosphere was great full of passionate developers, excellent organization, and plenty of opportunities to connect and exchange ideas. Plus, the swag game was strong this year; I’ll include a photo below of the goodies I picked up from the companies present!
Day 1 Highlights
Architecting for Sustainability: A Software Architect’s Guide to Green Software
A thoughtful talk on how software architecture decisions impact sustainability. It introduced practical approaches to making systems more energy-efficient, including design trade-offs that reduce cloud waste and carbon footprint.
Machine Learning in Observability Systems: From Insights to Action
This session explored how ML models can automatically detect, analyze, and even respond to anomalies in complex systems essentially turning observability data into actionable intelligence.
The Future of Utility-First CSS: What Tailwind v4 Signals for Web Development
A great overview of the upcoming Tailwind v4, and how the framework continues to shape modern frontend development with improved performance, flexibility, and tooling. Definitely gave me ideas for improving my own styling workflow.

How We Turned AI Hype into Real Value
A pragmatic presentation on moving from buzzwords to measurable business outcomes using AI. Real-world examples made it clear that adopting AI thoughtfully is more impactful than chasing trends.
Evolutionary Architecture: How Do You Build Systems That Can Evolve
This talk focused on designing software architectures that adapt over time. Concepts like fitness functions and guided evolution were introduced as techniques for sustainable system growth.
Do Legacy Systems Dream of Modernization?
An engaging look at how to modernize legacy systems without full rewrites focusing on incremental transformation, testing strategies, and balancing risk with innovation.
Streaming Financial Market Data Through WebSockets
A technical deep dive into building real-time data pipelines for financial systems. Covered performance tuning, data integrity, and the challenges of scaling WebSocket-based infrastructures.
To RAG or Not to RAG
My favorite talk of the day, an exploration of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques. It provided a clear understanding of when to use RAG, when simpler models might suffice, and how to balance accuracy with system complexity. I left this session with concrete ideas for integrating RAG into my own projects.
Day 2 Highlights
Executable Agreements: Code, Collaborate, and Deploy with Confidence
An intriguing concept of turning business contracts into executable code, reducing ambiguity between teams and ensuring alignment between technical and legal expectations.
Are We Ready for the Next Cyber Security Crisis (Like Log4Shell)?
One of my top sessions overall. A wake-up call about how vulnerabilities like Log4Shell exposed systemic weaknesses. The talk emphasized proactive security culture, dependency management, and continuous scanning.
Disney-Driven Development
A fun and creative session that connected storytelling and imagination to software design. It was light-hearted but surprisingly insightful about how culture and narrative shape product development.
